CARAM (Centre for advanced Research on Alternative Medicine) is a NGO (Non-Government Organisation) has been established in the year 1994.
The Organistaion has been registered under Societies Registration Act XXI of 1860, (Regd. No. BBS-313-144 of 1999-2000) on 8th February 2000 (Bhubaneswar), & Regd. No. 21961/139 of 2004-2005 on 18th October 2004. We are also registered under FCRA for receiving foreign funds (details at the end of page, in case you wish to donate for the cause), the donor can claim the donation under section 12AA and 80G of the Indian I.T. Act 1961.
CARAM has been working towards the improvement of the quality of lives of tribal, rural and urban poor in Odisha. The organisation has primary focus on eradicating extreme poverty and hunger, ensuring social inclusion and justice, good development measures; providing training and other capacity building support to pro poor organisations and individuals in favour of the poor people especially the Rural &Urban constitute the major initiatives of the organisation.
The major Areas of work are rural livelihoods, education, participatory governance and budget accountability, disaster response and mitigation, health, environment, animal husbandry, fish culture, gender equality, child rights and protection, women empowering, social justice, livelihood and sustainable development, farmer training and social development, road safety, tribal economic generation program, skill development training for self-employed youth, water and sanitation, decentralise process of preparation of micro compost through domestic waste.
CARAM works at both grassroot level directly with communities and other NGO partners in Mumbai, Delhi, Baroda, Chhattisgarh and Telangana, and obviously Odisha which makes its development model unique.
